The Basic Max Block (Lame) Wind Druid
To me, this build is nothing more than the noob’s way into being pro. To me, this build is the easy way out for bads. However, that’s not
to say it isn’t a viable build. The max block Druid has many advantages that the non-max block build does not, though with enough skill, this
doesn’t really matter. As far as tankiness, the max block druid can generally take more hits from a Smiter, a Barbarian, and other physical
damage dealing characters. This is due to the use of Stormshield, which allows the Druid to easily hit 50% Damage Reduced. Another advantage to
this build is that it can generally get more damage because it doesn’t require so much FCR gear to get to 163%. It only requires the 99% FCR
breakpoint, which allows the use of items such as a Heart of the Oak, a Druid Pelt, and other skill increasing gear. Most people think this is
what makes the max block Druid better, but in my opinion the speed and ability to control your opponent with the 163 build is more important than
the damage and tankiness. But enough about all these advantages/disadvantages and my opinions on them.
I. Gear
1. Helmet: 2 Druid/2os/10% FHR/3 Tornado/3 Cyclone Armor/3 xxx/40 life/rep/200% edef/eth Druid Pelt “JahJah”
There are only two reasons to use this pelt: Damage and the boost to Cyclone Armor’s absorb.
2. Armor: Enigma (Wire Fleece for strength bug, any other if you don’t care)
This is the only option, if you are considering another armor, please stop reading now and uninstall the game.
3. Belt: Arachnid Mesh Spiderweb Sash
You’d be a fool not to “Ber” your Stormshield for max %DR with Enigma. This allows you to use Arachnid for your belt, allowing you 99% FCR.
4. Gloves: Trang-Oul’s Claws Vambraces
The reason for these gloves is simple: 20% FCR and +30% Cold Resistance. Nothing else to say.
5. Boots: Shadowdancer Myrmidon Greaves
I bet you’re wondering why we’d use boots with +assassin skills on it. The answer is simple: 30% FHR and +25 Dexterity for maxing block chance.
6. Amulet: 2 Druid/20% FCR/+30 Strength/mods Caster Crafted Amulet
This shouldn’t need an explanation, but I’ll give one. The FCR allows you to easily hit 99% FCR breakpoint, the Strength allows you to wear
Enigma much easier, etc. etc.
7. Rings: 2x 10% FCR/60 Life/Strength/mods Blood Craft Ring
The crafted ring is for the FCR as well as the Strength and life, etc. Should be pretty self-explanitory.
8. Weapon: Spirit Crystal Sword/other sword
Simple: 35% FCR, 2 all skills, 55% FHR, etc.
9. Shield: Stormshield Monarch
The whole reason for this build… max block and %DR.
II. Inventory
1. Eight Elemental Skill 45 life Grand Charms and one Elemental Skill 12% FHR Grand Charm
2. Nine 20 life 5% all resistance Small Charms and one 5% FHR 5% all resistances Small Charm
3. 20/20 Hellfire Torch
4. 20/20/10 Annihilus
III. Stats (Base, no gear)
Strength: 15
Dexterity: 142
Vitality: 408
Energy: 20
These stats are assuming you are using the same gear and at level 99.
IV. Skills
1. Elemental Skills
Arctic Blast – 1
Cyclone armor – 20
Twister – 20
Tornado – 20
Hurricane – 20
2. Summoning Skills
Summon Raven – 1
Summon Oak Sage- 1
Summon Spirit Wolves – 1
Summon Dire Wolves – 1
Summon Grizzly – 1
3. Shapeshifting Skills
None here, unless you want it for some reason…
So that was my take on the Lame Dr- I mean max block Druid. You will have some skills left over, use them as you see fit. This build is only a basic guide to get you started, you may tweak or add switches how you see fit, after all, it’s your character, not mine. Enjoy~
