Hello, fellow duelers! Today I want to show those of you who are unsure what sort of resources there are available to make sure you are using completely legit gear, and gear that still exists on closed realms. For starters, let's take a look at Uniques, Set Items, and Runewords. The best site to find attributes for these items is Arreat Summit. When you head to this link, you should see a page like this;
From here, you want to click on the "Items" button in the left column. You'll end up on this page;
Across the top, there are a bunch of links that will take you to different types of items. For this section, we'll be looking at "Rune Words," "Set Items," and "Unique Items." If you head to the "Rune Words" page, you'll be prompted with a long webpage explaining how Runewords are made in-game, and what they are. Scroll to the bottom, and you should see this;
-Original Runewords will be composed of older Runewords, like Ancient's Pledge, Fury, Honor, Leaf, Memory, etc.
-1.10 Patch Runewords will be composed of the more popular runewords like Enigma, Fortitude, Spirit, and Chains of Honor, and also introduces Ladder and Non-Ladder Runewords.
-1.11 Patch Runewords will be composed of the class-specific Runewords like Peace and Treachery.
Using this page to your advantage will make sure that your Runewords are legit AND perfect, however, be sure to make note of which mods are Rune mods. For example, In Fortitude, there are the Runes: El, Sol, Dol, and Lo.
Which mods are the Rune mods, you ask? Well, there are two ways of finding out.
- 1. You could look in Hero Editor at the Runeword, assuming you imported it, and look under "Rune Magic" to see which mods on the Arreat Summit page aren't listed there. This method is less trustworthy.
- 2. You can go to the "Runes" page on Arreat Summit, and see which Rune does what for the base it's in. So, El in armors adds +15 Defense and +1 to Light Radius, Sol adds Damaged Reduced by 7, Dol adds Replenish Life +7, and Lo adds +5% Maximum Lightning Resist. This method ensures you know which Rune does what, and is much more trustworthy than the first.
Up next, we have the Set Items. Head on over to the Set Items page, and you'll be prompted with this screen;
Judging by this list of Sets, it's clear that you must know which set the item you're looking for belongs to. If you're not sure, figure out the name of the item itself, it's usually pretty easy after that. For example, Trang-Oul's Claws has the name of the Set in it's item name. There are a few exception's to this, such as in Orphan's Call, in which case a simple Google search will help you figure out which set it belongs to. Using this page to your advantage will ensure you know which set bonuses go where on the item. Such as the Trang-Oul's Wing set bonus, -25% to Enemy Poison Resistance.
As you can see here, after the set mod, it says (3 items). This means that the set attribute will only show up when you have three items of the set on at the same time. The same applies to any Set Item you view on Arreat Summit.
Now, let's head on over to the Uniques section. You should see this screen;
By the looks of this page, it seems you'll have to know whether the Unique item's base is Normal, Exceptional, or Elite. Simply looking at the item's base and searching up and down the "Normal Items," "Exceptional Items," and "Elite Items" sections on Arreat Summit can help you figure out which is which. As an example, let's look at Stormshield. Now, I'm sure most of us know that Stormshield is in a Monarch base, and that a Monarch is an Elite shield, however, for those of us that don't, let's go over the steps.
Step 1: Figure out the item's base. The item's base always appears under the Unique name.
Step 2: Search Arreat Summit for which level of item it is. For sake of ease, I'll just show going to "Elite Items," and then to "Shields."
So now you know that a Monarch is an Elite item, so you can find Stormshield in the Uniques section by going to "Shields" beside where it says "Elite Unique Armor:"
Stormshield will be on that page, and you'll be able to see what its attributes are, and whether yours matches it or not. This method, obviously, applies to all Unique items.
And that covers how to check whether your Runewords, Set Items, and Uniques are legit and perfect or not. Rare items and Crafts are a bit more complicated. For rares, you can check out this video I made on how to make them in Hero Editor:[HOW TO] Making a Rare Item In Hero Editor. Crafts work just about the same way as Rares, except they can have up to only 4 affixes on them, and must have at least 1 prefix and 1 suffix. This leaves you with the options of 1/3, 2,2, and 3/1. Also note that there are four types of Crafts. Blood, Caster, Safety, and Hit Power. Each one has different "Automods" that spawn on different items. These automods can be found on Arreat Summit, as well, under "Crafted Items." Scroll to the bottom when you click the "Crafted Items" button on Arreat Summit, and you should see this;
Hit Power items usually have things to be casted on striking, or when struck, as well as adding Dexterity.
Blood items usually add Life, Life Steal, and Strength, as well as Crushing Blow, Open Wounds, and Deadly Strike on some items.
Caster Items tend to add Faster Cast Rate, Mana, Energy, and Mana Regen.
Safety Items tend to add Magic Damage Reduced by x, and Damage Reduced by x, as well as Blocking mods, and others.
One final point, concerning Bugged Items. The most common bugged items that still exist on realm are as follows;
-Snatchii's Stormclash Heavy Bracers
-Wizardspike Light Gauntlets
-Siggard's Stealth Vampirefang Belt
-Tal-Rasha's Guardianship Lacquered Plate (Btal's)
-08 Valkyrie Wing Winged Helm
Some commonly used illegal bugged items;
-Merman's Sprocket Wyrmhide Boots
-Soulflay Gauntlets
-Lance of Yaggai Light Gauntlets
-"Bugged" War Traveler
Alright newbros, that should about cover it. For any questions, feel free to PM me or another Administrator with your question, we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Keep it legit,
