Welcome!
This is not a strict limitation to what an OSO Agent may perform, since we're always looking for those to go the extra mile. If you are interested in in this staff position, please read the following to understand what you will be contributing to your community.
Overseer of Staff Operations Agent Contributions:
Overseer of Staff Operations' Overview - All OSO Agents are here to make sure our staff is operating in accordance to staff instructions, oath, and compliance. Also, they are to handle complaints filed by members about staff-misconduct, Discrepancy Reports filed by Staff about member/guest violations, and Host Games.
1.) Hosting Games - We host games to provide more space for our active members to play in.
1.a.) Uniform Games - are to help members differentiate foreign games from ours.
1.b.) Refreshing Games/Proper Refresh - Games are to be up, and to be refreshed every 12-hours (minimum). Refreshing a game means - to close all instances of the D2Program and D2Guard. Then, reopen D2Guard and D2Program(s). This is a proper refresh to remove any lingering D2guard and D2Program cache data.
1.c.) Clean Maps - All Games are to have Maps Cleaned. Cleaning maps where people are likely to duel is crucial; we want to have things ready for duels. Mandatory Maps to be cleaned are as followed: Blood Moor (Moor), Cold Plains (CP), Stony Fields (SF), Black Marsh (BM) and Tamoe Highlands (TH).
1.d.) Logging - is a necessity as a Host. The log is meant for recording, solving, and eliminating disputes. They are not meant to dig into players' personal conversations. Granted, people are able to use an alternative means to communicate, however that would be a contradiction to what we are supposed to be providing. OSO Agents should be reviewing their logs on a daily basis; especially, if there has been closet hacking suspicion.
1.e.) #Save - This is a command that should only be used after a suspicion report has been filed with an OSO. The OSO will be conducting the investigation, after notifying the member in-game. OSO's will be inspecting the player's gear, stats, skills, within Hero Editor. Any hacks found, will be reported to fellow OSO with all Character files that are "infected" with hacks.
1.f.) IP-Banning - This should only be a last resort, at most, should only be temporary. Consistent-deliberate Hack-offenses are considered to be level 5 (will be further discussed)
2.) Report Response/Archiving - All OSO Agents are responsible for responding to reports and notifications from FA and IGA. OSO Agents are the highest in the chain of command; We authorize and initiate banning as a LAST RESORT, provide alternative corrective action, and do our very best to protect our community's culture and growth.
3.) Responding to non-staff - Being that OSO Agents are the highest in-command, it will be our sole duty to protect our members from volatile staff, and to be 99% volatile free. Also, we must see things objectively and subjectively -- 100% for both sides with zero bias to make decisions.
4.) Staff Teams - Is one Host (OSO), one IGA, and One FA. These teams need to be fulfilling all duties pertaining to their Staff Description. OSO needs to work with them and make sure they are being managed properly.
5.) Maintaining Staff Only Board - All OSO Agents are responsible for keeping the Staff Only Board clean, organized, and clearly formatted.
