Hello, To All my fellow Necromancer brothers!
I have made a few guides in my D2 and other game playing adventures, And this one is a follow up, Right away this guide is mostly for other's to post Strats, Opinions and other Free will of what Tech you want to share about your necromancer
Since I'm apart of this community, And want to master the Art of the open Net. Poison Necro seeing as it's the "Under Dog" I will post my Follow up adventures here, Step by step as I progress on my skills and learn full time match-ups on Open net strats I will post them here and hope to start a chain of Necromancer Tech eventually getting the "Under Dog" build into a "Highly skilled PvP build"
As of now, I will leave it as is, untill i finish calculating my tech and skills against other builds in Open net Legit dueling, I will be working hard dueling everyone in Situations i would normally fail untill i bring strats out that make the Average easy kill Poison Necromancer into a "Oh sh*t there's the Poison Necro" Kinda class
By the end of this weekend i Hope to have at least an average tech management follow up on, Hollow Skills ( A term used in other games as *Defensive to Aggressive opportunities ) Or more commonly known as a Trick play strategy,
Also to be followed up by this weekend, I will regard an average counter to counter on Pros / Cons of an Open Net Poison Necromancer, I hope you guys will enjoy my Follow up Guides to come, and eventually change your minds on the Poison Necro under dog!
See you soon!

- Introduction:
The basic idea of a Poison Necromancer is to be as douche like as possible, Stacking lower resistance on opponent(s) while barraging them down with Poison Nova and kiting them to their death.
This build once was a top end supreme BM Douche match-up being hard to follow and counter, and super easy and efficient to play, For you Closed net players. This is true. But Open B.net is a whole new world with access to as much perfect rolled gear, Counter set-ups, Inventory set-ups, and overall build superiority in general, Knocking the once hated, Annoying OP Poison Necro, All the way down to the bottom of the charts when it comes to efficiency in PvP.
Once easy to play requiring little skill to achieve OPness, The poison Necromancer is in a whole new field giving Strategic play and Player skill level a whole new meaning.
My dedication now, Is to bring this now under-rated weak build, into a whole new charts of strategic planning and achieving successful Open net. BM status.
Starting up my new Poison Necromancer Guide, I will Cover Gear Selection, Pros/Cons of my current Poison Necromancer, and Skill options. Let's Get to it!
The priority of this build is to stack FCR(Faster Cast Rate) to a break point on which will allow you to Teleport and send Wave after Wave of Poison Novas at an all time high to assure the deadlyness of what this build once was.
STATS:
Str- Keep as low as possible, If needed put a few points into it to cover your gear requirements
Dex-Minimum, Can be used to achieve max block, 220is is the average dex needed to acheive max block on most builds
Vit- All our left over points goes here, Given limited (Max-Health) Multipliers on gear, we need to acheive as much life as we can. (2.3-3khp unbuffed is about the reaching point for this build)
Energy- None here, Gear gives Mana reg% rates +Max Mana options
SKILLS-
20 Poison Nova
20 Poison Dagger
20 Poison Explosion
All these are needed to scale Poison Novas Damage
1 Fire Golem
1 Summon Resist
1 Golem Mastery
5 Lower Res ( Don't have to put 5 here, 1 will do, I simply put 5 in Open net to add extra Res. Reduction on opponents)
Rest into Bone Spirit or Bone Spear whichever one you choose.
-GEAR:
There two set-ups this build can play gear wise,
HELMS-
As with most caster builds, a +Skill Circlet is the way to go.
In this case we want to aim for a +3 Poison/Bone Skills 20% FCR Magic Diadem.
This is the best option available to the build for max efficiency. Socket these with 3, 5% Facets, GG
EDIT: You can also use a Rare crafted +2 skills circlet with +10% Poison damage/ FCR / Lower poison res / life circelt, which is another choice, either is a good option, generally up to you.
CHEST-
Mage Plate- Enigma (Rune Word) (Mage Plate to limit Str. Requirements)
+1 teleport
+2 Skills
Is what we want here, Without Teleport this builds play style would not be efficient, To top it off, Enigma is a great chest period. The mods speak for themselves. And that's why this is our Number one Priority, For most Match-ups
Bramble- Bramble is our options for situations we don't need to rely on teleport.
BELT-
Arachnid Mesh is our best option here
+1 skills and another 20% FCR makes this our choice
Another good choice would be Siggard's Stealth belt +1 skills 20 % DR = GG
GLOVES-
Trang-Ouls' Claws
+2 to Curses
20% FCR
and 30% cold res. No argument here.
SteelClash
if you want to go MB without loading tons of points into dex, these are what you want!
Wizardspike
+50% FCR
+76 all res, These are the gloves you should use over all unless you go MB, 50% FCR is always nice, not to mention more GG res.
WEAPON-
Death's Web Unearthed Wand
+2 to Poison & Bone skills, on-top of another +2 all skills
-50% Enemy Poison Res.
+10% Poison Damage
Socket this with 1 more 5% Facets, and we have the best weapon available for our build!
If you want to mess around and Troll a little bit, a Fool's Kris always does the trick
BOOTS-
Sandtorm Trek is what I use, Other boots are available these boots are just GG on there own, i do not believe they are the current best selection Choice, For boots you can simply chose whatever you feel is the best to your play style.
SHIELD-
Spirit Monarch (RuneWord) is our go to shield here!
+2 Skills
36% FCR is the main reason we chose this shield, To top it off we get a nice
35% Cold, Lightning, and Poison Res. No argument here the +8 magic absorb is also nice.
A crafted Jewlers Monarch is the next best thing if you want to go MB, Load that baby into a Fool's shield and even on death you leave a nasty suprise for your opponent!
RINGS-
our best selection here is Crafted FCR% life/res Rings i currently use
Crafted Storm Spikes with
10% FCR
40 life
Replenish life
And Res. Rolled rings, Thanks to -Famine- for loaning these to me while my HE was messing up and i couldn't quite craft/make my own Rare set rings viable to our build.
These are simply the best you can go for in terms of expectation of our build, and is what you should aim for
AMULET-
A crafted +Skills/FCR% Amulet is our best selection, another option is Mara's +2 skills/Res. Makes it a decent choice.
If you're going MB a safety amulet with + Skills, FCR, and Block Cahnce is always GG (Eagle Crest)
WEAPON SWAP BUFFS-
I currently use a Call to Arms, BO is a must for this build as on most
As an offhand I'm currently using a Storm shield, but this can be up to your personal preference.
I've been messing around with Demonlimb a bit to, Haven't figured if it'll have any effect on this build will update when i find out.
INVENTORY:
Hellfire Torch (Necro)
Perfect Annihilus are the two obvious choices.
I currently run with 7 perfect Fungals/Vita LCs a must have for +1 Poison & Bone Skills, and stacking as much life as possible since your gear minimizes your overall Life pool
Over Capping res is a good choice to seeing as opponets haveing perfect gear, Can do some nasty damage especially sorcs. so 20/5 Shimmering/Vita SCs is what fills the rest of my inventory
Giving that, with this being Open net, Inventory is however you wat it to be, Giving you countless options to run with whatever inventory you need for current situations.
- PROs/CONs of my current build as of now.
PROs-
-Different from most builds, Fun to play
-High Move-ability making it extremely agile and easy to escape from tough situations and regroup for more strategic approaches.
-Lower Resistance- This curse is your best friend for you closed B.net players, when you seen this curse it meant bad news is coming, For closed net, this is still a top priority tool, the lower you can drop a players res. in Open net apposed to their normal over capped resistance gives us more edge.
-This build shines in TvT Matches, Having cureses to put the opponent team on edge as your party heads in to take advantage while you stack Novas increasing the pressure on the opposing team, makes you a solid addition to any TvT event.
-Advantage over melee, In term poisoning a melee opponent and begin the Cat and Mouse teleport game. can prove annoying to Melee builds given in general term.
-Fools Setups are hilarious and fun to use and work amazing on this build.
-If going max block, you can achieve this with minimum gear efforts without loading tons into dex and still blast away efficiently with Nova
CONs-
-As of now, The poison necro is the one of the weakest available builds in Open net due to players having access to perfect gear and optimal inventory selections usually having above over cap resistances making you at a huge disadvantage even with Lower Res. Perfect Facets and -50% poison res Death's Web it can be quit hard to phase high defense tanky builds.
-Squishy, this build is extremely squishy capping at 3.7k life with BO's activated even as a pure vit build, your gear limits you into haveing to fade away from sticky situations before you get squashed like a bug, low DR, Defense and not having max block generally makes you a (Glass Cannon) Build even being pure vit. Of course, This can be changed to your play style, Max Block is achievable.
-Desynch, relying solely on Teleport as your form of defense, You can easily desynch your game, Making you an easy target for your opponent when your stuck in a teleport loop and can't recover, Of course this is based of current game- computer mechanics, Not everyone will desynch on this build, Given I do. So i will list it anyways.
-Mitigation damage of your Poison nova, as stated before, based off your opponents set-ups Poison Nova even haveing a high 'Tool-Tip' Damage scale reaching goals of 13k+Current LR(Lower Res.) and Facet Pierce stacks. Your nova can appear to be like fighting an annoying fly, hard to hit, But minimum threat in general, This being why i am making this Follow up Guide, To eventually master Poison Necro and over come all obstacles with strategic play and eventually reaching BM' status as one of the weakest builds in Open Net.
-On occasion when fighting a tough opponent you can find yourself lacking Mana due to high FCR% Teleports to stay alive, And Fire Golem eats almost 70% of your mana makeing him a pre-game (buff) i guess you could call it Not worth reviving in a match unless given plenty of room to cast him pop a potion and get back into the Cat & Mouse Game ASAP.
-Poison Nova is a DoT(Damage over Time) skill, given that it will not drop an enemy past 1hp (PvP) This essentially isn't a problem seeing as another Poison Nova will do the trick, Or Fire Golems aura will kill them, and you could always finish it off with a Bone Spirit, But it can (Not often, Very rare) prove life or death in a tough matchup if your opponet catches you in a quick reflex "YOLO" Charge when you least expect it.
-COMING SOON-
This weekend I plan to do tons of calculations and Strat guides against other builds in Open Net.
I also plan to calculate Poison Necromancers overall damage capabilities with Poison Nova Calculating Lower Res, With Death's Web+ Perfect Facets on multiple tanky High res. opponents.
Tech Guides! i plan to also cover Strategic skill tech guides to get you out of sticky situations and give On-Screen map play advantage to counter certain opponents!
ALRIGHT!
So just today alone i have gotten some good info on Match-ups and guides and with a little help from the community discovered a whole new way to play the Poison Necromancer.
Starting off, i will try and post Match-ups one-by-one as i process through the strats and tech while fighting other builds.
-MATCH-UP GUIDES-
Today I followed up my skills against Charge Paladins and discovered a few nifty things.
NOTE: There are 2 different kinds of Charge Paladins with several set-ups each of there own a Melee Charger and a Mage Charger are the common examples.
And here's how to deal with them!
MELEE CHARGER-
Melee Charger is a Charger usually specced more into defense over res. Now this is not true in all cases, Out of my experience with Melee Chargers today, it is common that they have low res. Giving you advantage in this duel.
This match up is a fairly balanced match up, but in my recent play time verse Melee Chargers I have to say it leans into Poison Necros favor heavily, Especially with a MB Bramble setup, MB in this match-up determines your life or death. I'll explain why.
This match-up is about as simple as it gets, Lower Res. isn't needed but can be used to gain even more favor of your win.
Simply kite your opponent around as he spams charge and let Nova do it's work, I have noticed Charge is super super bugged, So you can Nova a Charge Paladin even if he's off-screen on your veiw. (This is do to the bugyness of Charge, He might actually be on-screen but even so Nova will hit him and you have time to gain cover room and let nova do it's works) With that being said, Depending on your setup against Melee Charger be it Enigma or Bramble expect random off screen deaths fairly often. You may think you're in the safe but with how bugged Charge is your opponent could be about to smash your face in, and you'd have no clue. I counted as i went through on my match-up today with Melee Chargers, and i died 17 times due to off screen appearances i never saw. I have no current idea on how to counter or stop this, It happens and sadly we have to deal with it :\ Now as i said earlier, MB determines your life or death in this situation. Being if you do get hit off screen and block the attack it gives the server time to respond to the charge allowing you to see your opponents actual location again- this is where you simply begin the Nova barrage kiting once more until they fall over.
FIRE GOLEMS!!!!! Fire Golems have proved their place in this match-up, Most MC's(Melee Chargers) are super aggressive, wanting to go in for the kill instantly they'll blindy rush you down eating Novas hoping to connect that more often than not 1-shot Charge and be done with you. In this case they completely ignore your Golem, and without even realizing it, as they steady rush towards you your Golem is sneakily waiting for that hp to hit the 1hp mark where it's fire Aura does it's work. Now you might question, Well why not just nova them again and be done with it, or Bone spirit? To answer this, Movement is key in this matchup, the more you move, less likely that chargers gonna get that 1-hit kill.
Where on most duels, you'll spam Nova in hopes of just getting that lucky kill off, Paying attention in this match-up is key. If you Poison the MC, dont use nova anymore, instead keep the cat and mouse game going leading the MC into spots where he's more likely to miss you with charge or get off screen charge kill you never see coming. You're golem will do the rest
MAGE CHARGERS-
Mage Chargers as i will refer to them as, Are chargers who plan ahead for Sorcs/Necs/ Ect. And have high cap res. and high defense, this being said, Mage Chargers have the additional favor to win this duel.
This match up is far more complex than simple cat and mouse, letting nova do the work as on Melee Chargers. No. This is where Enigma comes into play, you simply can't let Mage Chargers rush you down on the blind side. In this Match-up timing is the key. Pace yourself far enough away you can get Lower Resistance off on the Mage Charger and resume teleporting because likely it wont be long he'll close in on you. Abuse teleport makeing him rush you down into areas with more clustered space. This is where you're have more chances on winning, In this match-up Bone Wall shines. If you manage to start leading the Mage Charger into more clustered areas, instead of beggining the offense, you stay straight on defense abuse bone wall keep him trapped in the cluster, He can not charge through bone wall (It will break the Bone Wall but stop his charge) abuse, abuse, abuse this method. Trap him in bone wall set-ups poison nova through the bone wall as he tries to break through them with charge. This fight is not a short one, Mage chargers usually have higher life as well as capped res. to counter spell slingers, If you're doing this fight correctly and avoiding all charges and timing yourself just right, this fight will last a few minutes. depending on the exact set-up of the Mage Charger you are fighting. If succesful eventually you will bring him down.
I have made a few guides in my D2 and other game playing adventures, And this one is a follow up, Right away this guide is mostly for other's to post Strats, Opinions and other Free will of what Tech you want to share about your necromancer
